Tony Elumelu is a Nigerian businessman, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. He was born on March 22, 1963, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, which makes him 60 years old as of 2023.

Tony Elumelu received his primary and secondary education in Nigeria before attending Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics in 1985. He later obtained a Master of Science in economics from the University of Lagos in 1986.

In 2010, Elumelu retired from UBA and founded Heirs Holdings, a family-owned investment company focusing on power, oil and gas, financial services, hospitality, and real estate. He also founded the Tony Elumelu Foundation, committed to empowering African entrepreneurs and promoting entrepreneurship on the continent.

Elumelu has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including being named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2015. He is also a member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (OFR).
